The old saying ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’ could not be more true. Researchers have found that people who skip breakfast are at greater risk of weight gain and consequent lifestyle associated diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
It is important to not follow a monotonous diet – incorporate a variety of different foods into your diet to ensure you consume all the vital macronutrients (carbs, proteins and fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) to live a healthy lifestyle! Take advantage of your breakfasts and kick start your day the right nutritious way! Here are some easy and quick to prepare breakfast ideas (remember most of these can be prepared a few days in advance (great for meal prep Sundays!), making them a convenient ‘on the go’ option!
